Student Residence Overview
There are some places available in the student accommodation connected with Methodist Centenary Church.
The Student Residence is a self-contained unit within Wesley House in the grounds of the Methodist Centenary Church. Being a 20 minute walk from the city centre and a short bus ride from most of the larger Dublin colleges it provides an ideal location for first year students.
A Student Leader will be generally responsible for the smooth running of the resident student community, while our resident administrator is also available to help with maintenance or any emergencies which may arise. The Superintendent Minister, our Lay Pastor and a small liaison committee consisting of church members, will meet with the students from time to time to ensure their general well being and to deal with any concerns that they may have.
It is our desire that the student residence develops and provides a welcoming Christian community for students as they come to adapt to their new life in Dublin.
The Residence
The residence itself consists of: the student leader's room, 4 twin study-bedrooms (allocated on an individual basis), always on broadband internet access (wireless only), and a community area comprising:
- Dining area-cum-kitchen & a living area (a television is provided; TVs are not permitted in the study-bedrooms)
- 2 toilets and showers
- Laundry area with washing machine and tumble dryer
- Payphone (can be used to make and receive calls)
Location
Dublin city centre is less than a twenty minute walk from Wesley House and a network of cycle lanes has been developed throughout many parts of the city (facilities are available for the storage of bicycles). A large number of colleges are served by nearby bus routes.
